Love for Song
Love for Song
. . My sing, my song,
... :``..': But woe I cannot sing.
: ````.' :''::' I love you more than anything,
..:.. : .'' : But know not what to bring.
``. `: .' :
: : : : The tools, the rules,
: : : : We play the games we must.
: : : : We work all day and go to sleep.
: : :..''''``::. What's happening to us?
: ...:..' .''
.' .' .::::' The toils, the spoils,
:..'''``::::::: What's happened to our sight?
' `:::: I wonder where the love has gone.
`::. We need to find the light.
`::
:::. The grind, the kids,
..:```.:'`. ::'`. They put up such a fuss.
..' `:.: :: It clouds our days to such extent,
.: .:``::: It leaves no time for us.
.: ..'' :::
: .'' .:: The tears, the fears,
: .'`:: We grow old by the day.
:: Where we've been is forgotten now.
:: We need to find the way.
:
: My sing, my song,
: You're everything to me.
: I love you more than anything,
. I know we'll always be.
I love you.
Rus' New "Job"
I (Rus) work for NouvEON and have just completed a 1 1/2 year engagement with a large logistics company in Charlotte. This is the longest consulting stint I've ever been on but budgetary issues finally brought it to a close. The project was developing a service oriented architecture to migrate a line-of-business application off the mainframe.
My new engagement starts next week and is up north near Lake Norman with a small start-up company. I'm looking forward to it because I should get to work from home a good bit. Good thing too, because that's quite a haul from Waxhaw.
PePa's birthday is this weekend (Oct. 5). Happy birthday, PePa!
Summer's Over
Dylan starts school tomorrow and Brandi starts in two weeks. Wow, how time flies. It's really true; the days are long but the years are short. I don't really feel like we got all the quality time we were supposed to this summer.
But we did take numerous trips to Eutawville and Edisto Island to see our parents/grandparents. Dylan learned to kneeboard and Brandi is swimming out over her head (with lifejacket on, of course). The kids saw their cousins (Chipper, Caroline, Julia and Alex) multiple times and had a blast. I took a week of vacation during the week of July 4th. Overall I suppose we did get the time with family that we all need.
Still, the summer is almost behind us.
But ahead we have fall, October birthdays, and cooler weather.
Then Thanksgiving, the holidays, and Christmas birthdays
So sharpen up your pencils and get ready for homework. Decide which Halloween costume to wear. Dig those recipes out to cook that turkey, dressing, casseroles and such. Put together your list and check it twice. (We all know who's been naughty and nice.) Summer's over.
3..2..1..Blog
We've succumbed and started our own blog site. Yes, you'll now be able to read (and subscribe to) a much more updated family site! That's the plan, anyway. This is Rus and I'm still configuring this blog software (Apache Roller). We'll have the ability to have as many blogs as we want, so family and friends could have their own blogs as well. Let the blogging begin...
